Frequently Asked Questions

How old should my dog be to start having it groomed?

We recommend as early as 4 months old and after they had thier shots and immunizations. Even though it might not be a breed that needs to be cut, they should still start being groomed to get used to the sounds of the shop such as dryers, clippers and also having their feet and face trimmed and being handled by strangers. Waiting till there over a year old will could be more difficult to groom and handle the dog.

How often should my dog be groomed?

It really varies breed to breed, but usually for most breeds 2-3 months.

How often should my dogs nails be trimmed?

About once a month.

What can I do about fleas and ticks?

We recommend getting your animals on a flea and tick preventive, such as frontline or advantix. We use a all natural plant based flea and tick shampoo. We do not use dips.

How far in advance should I make an appointment?

Most of our customers make there next appointment when they pick up their dog. Others we recommend 2-3 weeks in advance. Holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas we strongly recommend making your appointment early October. That's our busiest time of year.

My dog has allergies. What kind of shampoos do you use?

We see a lot of dogs with allergies. We use gentle hypo-allergenic shampoos. We do not use dips!

Exactly how much does it cost to have my dog groomed?

Grooming prices vary per breed and condition. Smaller dogs start at $25.00. Bigger dogs $45.00. All prices are approximate.
